New Videos of Opel Insignia OPC at the Nurburgring and on the Road

Here's the latest batch of videos of Opel's new high-performance model, the 325HP Insignia OPC or if you live in the UK, the Vauxhall Insignia VXR. Along with a promotional film that shows the sedan and estate (Sports Tourer) versions of the OPC on the road, Opel also published a video of the range-topping Insignia at the Nurburgring race track.

The most powerful production model in Opel history ever will be available for sale in Europe this fall in all three body styles - four-door sedan sedan, five-door liftback and Sports Tourer.

As you may have already figured out by now, any chance of seeing the Insignia OPC making its way to the States was washed out after GM's collapse (okay, okay, bankruptcy) and the company's decision to sell the Saturn brand as well as part of its European operations.

Video Galore: New Opel Astra Interior, Trailers and Interviews

Once upon a time not too long ago, you'd consider yourself lucky if you found a single official video of a newly presented car. Nowadays, carmakers churn them out like sausages at a factory. Only today, along with the first official interior shots of the Astra, Opel released five new videos on its hatchback. Something tells us that most will stop at the first animated film showing the Astra's interior, but for those that might be interested, there's four more films including an interview with Mark Adams, VP of Design at GM Europe and with John Puskar, Director of Interior Design. The latter seems like the kind of guy who'd design a really, really, relaxed cabin...

New Astra Beats Ford Focus and VW Golf at Millbrook Test Track in Viral Video

Looks like General Motors' UK division is trying its hand at viral marketing with a new video showing 2010 Astra hatchback outpacing a VW Golf MKVI and a Ford Focus at the Millbrook Proving Ground test track in Bedfordshire, England. The driver behind the wheel of the Astra is none other than Vauxhall's own BTCC pilot, Fabrizio Giovanardi. If you turn up the volume and pay attention, you might hear some weird mechanical noises coming out of the Astra but guess that makes it a bit more realistic... Will be interesting to see if Ford and VW play along, but until then follow the jump to watch the video.

Kudos to Mark for the tip!

VIDEO: Opel Insignia OPC Unleashes its 300HP+ on the Nurburgring

While not as powerful as the BMW M3 Sedan, the new Opel Insignia OPC with its bi-turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 engine that is slated to develop anywhere between 300 and 320HP could give Audi's S4 sports sedan a good run for its money. The high-performance version of the Insignia which is due to be officially revealed this month, also comes with GM's latest all-wheel drive system featuring an electronically-controlled, rear limited slip differential.

In this new spy video -courtesy of Car Magazine- the Insignia OPC was caught in action on the Nurburgring race track. Once you have finished watching the video, click here for more details and high-res photos of the Insignia OPC.
