Google Street View Uses Pedal-Powered Tricycles to Film Locations Inaccessible by Car

Google's famous street view mapping service that allows users to take a virtual walk on the roads of major cities is getting ready to extend its reach this summer with the launch of the Google Trike. In order to film areas of that are unreachable by its car fleet like famous landmarks or piers, Google has created the trike - a pedal-powered tricycle equipped with the same 360 degree camera mounted on the company's Street View cars. Not exactly the high-tech solution you'd expect from a company like Google, but on the other hand it's as environmentally friendly as it gets.

The Google Trike project will kick off in Italy with the United Kingdom following latter on in the summer. In the UK, Google has joined forces with Visit Britain to launch an online poll to find which famous landmarks and locations should be first included on Street View. Users can choose their top 3 locations from five categories - Castles, Coastal paths, Natural Wonders, Historic Buildings & Monuments and (Sports).

LUMMA Design places car tuning on hold, develops Mountain Bike

BMW and Porsche tuning specialist LUMMA Design, has momentarily turned its focus on a limited-edition mountain bike that was developed with the assistance of former BMX world champion, Jordi Miranda. Fortunately or unfortunately -depends on one's aesthetic criteria- the mountain bike's design bears no similarities with the German firm's automobile tuning proposals. Featuring an all-aluminum frame and various Shimano components, LUMMA Design's mountain bike has been priced at €3,332 or with the current exchange rates, $4,320. Production will be limited to a mere 50 pieces.

Legway: Back to the Future Step-Powered Segway

You may not have had the chance to ride one but we're pretty sure you all know about the electric-powered, two-wheeler Segway. Well, here's the ultimate eco-friendly alternative to the Segway, which is called by its creator the Legway in reference to the propulsion system. And yes, you guessed right; this home-made two-wheeler is 'step-powered'.

The maker of the 'steampunk' styled Segway has published detailed instructions on the web on how to build a Legway of your own at home. However, as you may have already figured out by looking at the pictures, this outmoded two-wheeler doesn't come with any-type of stabilization system so if by any rare chance you decide to build one, you better be extra careful when you take it for a spin.

Chicago Show: 2010 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Edition

We never quite understood the connection between Ford's F-Series trucks and Harley Davidson (other than being two American icons stuck in the past...) but given that the automaker has already released 13 versions of these special edition models since 2000, apparently there's a crowd out there that appreciates them. The latest Harley Davidson branded model is based on the new F-150 and it is distinguished on the outside by a deep maroon finish, massive 22-inch alloy wheels shod with low profile performance tires and a six-bar shaped billet style grille.

The special edition model's two-tone interior get's all sorts of goodies like the seat backs that feature ribbed leather treatments, engraved Harley-Davidson button snaps and even zippered map pockets featuring zippers from Harley jackets.
