VIDEO: BMW 'Joyful' Promo Film with Some Neat Classics
The maker of 'The Ultimate Driving Machine' has released a new promotional video featuring past, current and feature production and concept bimmers such as the Z1 and Z8 roadsters, M3 E30, 2002 Convertible and the controversial 5-Series GT. As with the Z4 Roadster, the Bavarians chose to use the 'Joy' slogan in their latest film. As you can see in the video, BMW overdid it with the joy theme as everyone is smiling like a Cheshire cat on dope. And oh, for those that don't understand a word of German, no need to panic as we've added an official translation right after the jump. Translation: We are a car company. But we don't just make cars. We make time machines, Build Snowplows, And create works of art.
We inspire fans, And fan clubs. We are efficient and dynamic. We even shape the future.
We realized a long time ago that what you make people feel is just as important ... as what you make. And at BMW we make Joy.
VIDEO: Russian BMW M3 Coupe-Convertible Chromed from Top to Bottom
Chrome-painting was never our cup of tea but when it comes to style /fashion /design etc, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This particular creation is the work of a Russian tuning firm called Dereiter Racing - and yes, we did notice the American flag waving outside the shop. Regardless of your taste buds, the mirror-like chrome paint finish on the M3 Coupe-Convertible seems well executed. Check out the car for yourselves in the video after the jump.
VIDEO: BMW X1 SUV Promo Film from Presentation in Mallorca
Blame our corrupted minds, but for a moment there we thought BMW was trying to tell us something with their choice of letters on the final prototype model's license plates... But anyway, this is the first official promotional video of the soon-to-be revealed, X1 crossover. The short film, which was shot at the same location as the media presentation of the X1 in Mallorca in late May, tries to show us the 'joyful' character of the compact-sized SAV on- and off-road. Follow the jump for the video or click here for a high-res photo album and more details on the X1.
VIDEO: 2010 BMW 5-Series Prototype Gets Pulled Over by German Police!
Believe it or not, a 2010 BMW 5-Series sedan test mule was pulled over by German police on the Autobahn and the incident was briefly filmed by a camera woman from 'TVnews Hessen' that happened to be at the right place, at the right time - or at least that's the word on the street. According to the German media, the officers found the riveted-body of the BMW 5-Series prototype suspicious so they decided to take a closer look at the car - yeah right, as if it's the first time that cops see a camouflaged car on the Autobahn... But anyway. Skip the jump to watch the video that includes exterior and interior footage of the bimmer (allegedly a 535d) as it was inspected by the police. - Hat tip to Marcus!
VIDEO: BMW 130i tii Short Film is all about Bimmer Love

The crew over at 'Format67' have created an beautiful high quality short film on a tii-accesorized BMW 130i and the driver's attempts to tune the RWD three-door hatchback to beat a Jaguar XF. Kinda like a short scene from a Fast and Furious movie but without Vin Diesel, the flashy girls and the Japanese ricers. Definitely worth 4 minutes and 52 seconds of your time. Hat tip to Timothy for the link.

VIDEO: Tour of BMW Roadsters at Concorso d'Eleganza
BMW's roadster models had a prominent place at this year's Concorso d'Eleganza show that took place at the Grand Hotel Villa dEste at Lake Como in Italy, this past April. Aside from the modern Z4 hardtop roadster and Z3, there were many classic production models such as the 3218, 315-1 and 319-1 as well as concept cars like the futuristic the GINA Light Visionary Model and Bertone's 1969 BMW 2800 Spicup that was only recently discovered somewhere in the Netherlands and restored to its former glory. This 12-second long video hypothetically shows a prototype version of the next-generation BMW M5 sedan that's expected about a year after the introduction of the new 5-Series Sedan and Touring models in 2010. There's no way of being 100 percent sure if it's an M5 or not, but it certainly sounds the part. The new M5 will be powered by the same 555HP 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine found in the X5M and X6M sporty crossovers.Via: Luxevelocity

As we have been officially informed from BMW's dedicated minisite, in less than three weeks time, on April 4, the Bavarian automaker will take the covers off the first ever 'M' variants of the X5 and X6 crossovers. While we've already seen official video clips of both prototype models, in one of the latest episodes of Grip, a German TV car show on RTL 2, we get the chance to see new footage of the X5 M and X6 M during the development phase of the two vehicles. Both the X5 M and X6 M will be powered by a twin-scroll turbocharged V8 engine developing somewhere north of 500-horsepower. It should be noted that the same engine will replace BMW's naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V10 unit on the next-generation M5 and M6 models.
